Call for Submissions - Annual Juried Summer Show
Celebrating 100 Years of the Crowsnest Community Orchestra
Sight and Sound
“How do we see music? How do we hear images? Sight and Sound invites artists to examine the dynamic relationship between visual art and music. This exhibit seeks art that celebrates the vibrant musical history of Crowsnest Pass, and engages with the sensory connections between sight and sound.
In celebration of the 100 year anniversary of Crowsnest Pass Community Orchestra, submissions for this theme can be artworks that focus on the connection between art and music: whether it be sensory, abstract, traditional, or an exploration of the way music and art connect us all. We encourage artists to submit work that represents or reimagines the relationship between what we see and what we hear.
Music has long since been an accompaniment to the landscape of Crowsnest Pass, and the Crowsnest Pass Community Orchestra has preserved the legacy of multigenerational orchestral music within our small mountain community for a century. What does this look like to you?
Sight and Sound aims to create an immersive experience where viewers are invited to both look, and listen, more deeply.”
